Project
winter access road and lease building
K&R utilizes a range of Low ground pressure and conventional water hauling and frost packing equipment to efficiently complete winter access roads and drilling sites. Our objective is to minimize ground disturbance while ensuring safety and cost-effectiveness. We employ a strategic system that optimizes efficiency by using equipment best suited for prevailing weather and ground conditions.
In 2011, K&R was contracted to provide frost packing and ice road building for a winter drill program spanning over 15 lease sites and 60 km of access roads in northern Alberta. These areas were previously inaccessible without proper planning and the use of Low ground pressure specific equipment. Leveraging our extensive experience and specialized equipment, we successfully mobilized drilling rigs to sites that were previously reachable only by ATV's. Our innovative approach, which involved layering water and packing frost simultaneously, proved critical when temperatures reached 10˚C in January.

well lease cleanup
In 2014 K&R was contracted to supply pipeline construction equipment with fuel and supplies in Northern Alberta. As Temperatures in early March began to rise, access to the pipeline under construction by conventional fuel and deck trucks became impossible.
K&R supplied Low ground pressure units (Delta 2 foremost and several 110 Nodwells ) equipped with certified fuel hauling tanks and flat decks to transfer fuel and supplies from base to unreachable areas of the pipeline.

fire suppression
With over 30 years of experience in Forest Fire Suppression, K&R has been at the forefront of fighting wildfires. We have provided equipment and manpower to Alberta Sustainable Resources and private corporations, supporting major campaigns such as the 2011 Slave Lake fire and the 2016 Fort McMurray Fire.
In addition, we have recently contributed our expertise and resources to the 2023 Alberta wildfire fight, from Grande Prairie to Fort McMurray. Our commitment to wildfire suppression remains unwavering as we continue to play a crucial role in protecting communities and natural landscapes.
